Dr Oonagh Williamson, Consultant Clinical Psychologist

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 30 years experience working in the NHS. I have been a qualified Clinical Psychologist for 26 years and worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in NHS Fife for 16 years leading one of the adult psychology teams.  I  have worked mainly with adults throughout this time and have a wealth of expertise helping people who experience mental health difficulties. I am a warm,  compassionate, approachable and empathic person. I believe that trust and collaboration in therapy is vitally important in helping people deal with their problems. In my private practice, I offer both assessment and therapy for a number of common psychological issues ranging from anxiety, depression and stress to trauma. This list is not exhaustive and I help people with many different issues. I am a Clinical Psychologist, which means I have been trained to the highest level to help people who are experiencing emotional or personal distress. I use my knowledge of psychology (which is the study of how people behave, think and feel) to help people reduce their emotional distress, promote their strengths and enhance their wellbeing. 

All Clinical Psychologists must be registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council). 'Clinical Psychologist' is a legally protected title meaning only professionals meeting the criteria set out by the HCPC may use it.
